Replacement and Upgrade D2R, D2S, D1R and D1S

If your vehicle is fitted with a xenon HID system then it will not use a conventional halogen based bulb. Instead it uses a HID gas discharge component which will be either a D2R, D2S, D1R or D1S.

This system has to be factory fitted on your vehicle from new to be safe and legal. An HID gas discharge lighting system will deliver around 200% more light than a halogen based system and the components within it are meant to last the life of the vehicle. In reality, we find that customers generally need to change these after around 4 years. If one of your HID D2R/D2S/D1R/D1S bulbs fails then it's likely that the other one will fail shortly afterwards. For that reason, like a normal headlight bulb, we advise changing these in pairs. They are sold individually so be sure to add 2 to your basket.

Original Equipment quality replacements or 6000k upgrades

We offer two ranges - Philips Standard (4100k) or Philips UltraBlue (6000K). The higher the K (kelvin) rating, the bluer the light. All of these products are original equipment quality, made in Europe and fully road legal. These are genuine Philips from Germany - be wary of immitations that may damage your vehicle.

Don't have an HID xenon system?

If you do not have a xenon gas discharge system then you can still benefit from increased light output by using Philips or Osram upgrade xenon bulbs.
